Imogen Heap - is a Grammy Award-winning English singer, composer and songwriter from Havering, Essex. She is known for her work as part of the musical duo Frou Frou and her solo albums, which she writes, produces, and mixes.

Musician Imogen Heap invited Dezeen to her home-studio to film this exclusive demonstration of her Mi.Mu gesture-control gloves, which allow her to control instruments and computers on stage by using hand gestures.

"For the first time I get to see how somebody else uses the gloves," Heap told us. "The minute somebody puts their hands in them, they're starting to think creatively about them. I'm really happy that you're going to see what they're up to."

A true digital diva, Imogen Heap’s innovative methods of creating music leap beyond the box. Whether it be producing music or collaborating with fans, she pushes her own boundaries and that of the music industry. She invented the Mi.Mu gloves and developed them with her team to wirelessly sculpt sound through gesture, manipulating voice and instruments live. Her latest project, Mycelia, is making waves with its ‘fair trade for music’ model.
