Fiona Hollands is Associate Director at the Center for Benefit-Cost Studies of Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Hollands' work has centered on applying the methods of cost-effectiveness analysis to educational programs, with the aim of demonstrating how policymakers can optimize the use of resources in education. Hollands has conducted a study of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to understand the goals of institutions who are developing and delivering these courses, their costs and impact on educational outcomes, and expectations for whether and how this phenomenon may change the landscape of learning.
